GWE Biogas, based in East Yorkshire, operates an advanced Anaerobic Digestion facility converting food waste into renewable green energy. Since 2008, the business has been a leader in sustainable waste processing and circular economy solutions.

In 2025, GWE Biogas was acquired by EDL Energy, a global sustainable energy company headquartered in Brisbane, Australia. EDL Energy operates more than 90 energy projects worldwide, delivering over 1,400MW of clean, reliable energy. The acquisition strengthens EDL Energy's UK renewable portfolio and supports continued investment in biogas and biomethane technologies.

GWE Biogas, now part of EDL (Energy Developments Pty Ltd), operates a market-leading Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facility in East Yorkshire.
